Here is Westley and I at our seats in Arrowhead for the Chiefs game last Sunday. I got these personalized jerserys for us. Westley has # 19 because he is not quite not a full "20" yet. LOL...
We yelled and cheered so much that when we went back to St. Louis, we were both horse.

This is what the parking lots at the Truman Sports Complex looks like on Sundays when the Kansas City Chiefs are in town.

Bar-B-Q, music, Bar-B-Q, laughing, Bar-B-Q, throwing footballs around, Bar-B-Q, drinking (beer and soft drinks), and did I mention Bar-B-Q?

Some people have "Special" vehicles that they drive ONLY on game day to Arrowhead. Banners, Flags, and Posters adorn the parking lot, mix in amongst the cars, trucks, vans, and RVs.

And RED everywhere!

Tailgating

Here is a picture of me and my sister Connie.

Her husband, ED, is standing at the far right side of the picture.

They have had Chiefs season tickets for about 15 years now. And they go tailgating with a group of their friends.

Everyone of the guys want me to get them the personalized Chiefs jerseys for them, the next time I am in Osan, South Korea.

Westley and I want to thank Connie and Ed, and all their tailgate friends, for letting us join them. We both had a great time. It was Westley's first time at a NFL game. And once he has been at Arrowhead, every other stadium just won't measure up.

Arrowhead

Westley and I went to see the Chiefs game Sunday. We went with my sister, Connie, and my brother-in-law, Ed.

We started at 9:00 am by "tailgating" for 3 hours in the parking lot at the Truman Sports Complex.

Then the game vs the Vikings.

Then the 3 hour drive home.

More pictures to follow throughout the week.

By the way.......

Kansas City

Susan and I are in Kansas City with our oldest grandchild, Westley.

Westley is staying with my parents and helping grandpa "20".

Susan's mom is still not doing too well. They are going to give her a blood transfusion Monday.

Westley and I are going to the Chiefs vs Vikings game tomorrow. We are going to Arrowhead Stadium at 9:00 am for a noon game time. We are going with my sister Connie and my brother-in-law Ed to tailgate. You have never been to a football game until you go to Arrowhead for an experience of a lifetime. And it all starts with the tailgate parties prior to the game. And during the National Anthem, when they get to the part that goes..."and the land of the free, and the home of the CHIEFS!" Everyone yells that last word instead of "home of the brave". Then during the whole game the entire field level seat never sit in their seats. They stand the whole game!

GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!

Home Again....

Sorry I haven't updated my blog since I left Alaska. But the Internet service in NYC at the Five Towns motel we stay at was down the 3 days I spent there.

Got back home yesterday at 1:00 pm.

Travel department was going to send me home via Atlanta, GA on AirTram. Just a few problems with the itinerary (LGA-ATL-STL) was that I was going to be traveling about 10 to 11 hours for a 2 hour flight (JFK-STL). Then, AirTran doesn't even fly into St Louis (STL). Also was the fact that I would have gotten to STL at about 5:35 pm.

We pick up Natalie (granddaughter) each Wednesday for a 3 hour visit each week. So it was going to be hard for Susan to pick me up at the airport and pick up Natalie by 6:00 pm.

I got them to send me home via Islip, NY on Southwest Airlines, to BWI (Baltimore) then to STL.

Trip home on American Airlines was going to cost the company $650.00 (JFK-STL). The flight I took was about $220.00.

Home until October 1st. Then start another 17 days.

We will be in Kansas City for the weekend. Susan's mother still not doing too well. And we are taking my oldest grandchild, Westley with us to visit his Granny B (Susan's mom) and Grandma & Grandpa "20".

I will report back in Sunday night after we get back.

Anchorage

Getting back to normal sleeping patterns. Spent much of yesterday trying to get reaclimated to Western Hemisphere time zones.

Had to go to Wal Mart yesterday to get some new underwear. Seems that the laundry I took my clothes to get washed lost 3 or 4 pair of my underwear, and gave me someone else's underwear. Plus I got an extra black sock. Oh well......

PS: Not going to wear the underwear that belongs to someone else. Not that hard up for clothes. LOL.....

North to Alaska

We got into Anchorage. But it took a while.

When we got to Khabarovsk, Russia (to refuel) the #4 engine wouldn't start. Our mechanic (Norbert) (yes that's his name) got the engine to start. We started the takeoff run and noticed the #4 engine wasn't producing takeoff thrust. So the Captain rejected the takeoff and we went back to the ramp for more repairs.

One hour later, Norbert got us going again. This time we made an uneventful takeoff for Anchorage. So we thought....

Once we landed in Anchorage, I was doing the post flight walk-a-round inspection of the aircraft, I found evidence (guts and blood) of a bird ingestion into the #3 engine.

Don't know if it happened on takeoff or landing. I could see the spot where the bird went in and out.

Oh well... another day in the life of an international freight dog.....

3 years old today.......

Happy Birthday Natalie !!!!!!!

We are in Hong Kong. Actually Kowloon. This is a picture of Hong Kong harbour from my hotel room.

We went shopping today at the Ladies market, Golden Computer Center, and the electronics market. Walked, and walked, and walked.

Almost didn't leave Liege, Belgium.

We were about ready to go when we discovered that the lav valve that empties the toilet contents, would not close. This is a NO GO item (ya think?)....

The mechanics were estimating that it would take at least 5 hours to fix, IF they had the part they thought they might need.

Once they started to take apart the cover over the toilet, and looked (yes I said looked) inside the tank portion of the toilet with a flashlight. They saw a 12 ounce plastic water bottle had gotten stuck in the valve that allows the pretty blue water out of the holding tank into a special truck. One of the mechanics then stuck his hand (yes, I said, STUCK his HAND) inside the holding tank and removed above stated water bottle! Then off we go to Bahrain and then on to Hong Kong.

There you go....

Life flying the line as a freight dog... LOL........

Bahrain

This is a picture of a new building that is being erected a block away from the Sheraton that we stay at in Bahrain. the other is a picture of one of the many structures around this desert city. The money here is a "dinar". 1 dinar is worth about $3.85 USD. Internet service runs 9 dinars for 1 day of Internet service. I 'll let you do the math.

We leave here for Amsterdam tonight. We are 8 hours ahead of most of you in the midwest (CDT).

Started back to work...

We left last night from Newark, NJ and flew 7.5 hours to Liege, Belgium. We left an hour late waiting for 2 pallets of mail that never came. This is a contract we have with the USPS and the DOD (Depart of Defence) to take mail over to the troupes in the Middle East. Flying with a good crew this month. And that means the time will go by fast.

I will try and take some pictures today and post tomorrow of Liege.
